OFI's first group residence at 46 Chestnut Street was named the Gabriel M. Vonleh House during a sign unveiling on November 20, 2025. The sign is in memory of Gabriel Vonleh, former CEO of Opportunities for Inclusion, who passed away unexpectedly in December 2024. Gabriel was a strong advocate for developing this group residence and oversaw its renovation.
The sign also states "With Gratitude to the Nix Family", in recognition of the Nix Family's support for the sale of their longtime family home and its conversion to a group residence for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The unveiling was attended by the Vonleh and Nix families, Waltham Mayor Jeannette McCarthy, OFI Board members and staff, Waltham City Councilors, residents of the home and others.
Thanks to Chris Wangler, WCAC-TV, and Waltham Ward 6 City Councilor Sean Durkee for many of these photos.
